TIRE RIM SEPARATOR – Mechanical Tire Rim
Gradeall has produced the Tire Rim Separator (TRS) which is ideal for separating the parts of a road wheel – removing the alloy or steel rim from the rubber tire.
The rubber tire is separated and ready to go through the tire disposal process. The process includes using other machines in the tire recycling range such as being cut with Sidewall Cutter to make shredding easier or baled in the MKII Tire Baler to assist with the storage and shipping of shredded tires.
The waste steel recovered is also very profitable for businesses, it offers an increase in margins and a return on investment for this piece of equipment.
The Tire Rim Separator is capable of:
- Separating tires from the rim within 20 seconds.
- Being operated by only one user.
- Providing a full safety guard with two-handed operation being required, for optimum safety.
- Being used without ear protection due to the low noise level produced.
- Handling a variety of tires from small car to van tires.
- Easy to transport with integrated forklift lifting holes underneath.
How Does The Tire Rim Separator Work?
The Tire Rim Separator can be handled with ease, as its low-difficulty and created with health and safety precautions in mind, to keep the operator as safe as possible.
The process for operating this machinery is as follows:
- The operator sets a tire onto the machine aligning the rim of the clamp.
- The adjustable rest can be moved so that the weight of the tire is suitably supported.
- The operator moves to the control panel, turns on the machine and operates the controls, 2 hands are required on the controls to ensure the operator remains in a safe location.
- The tire rim separator moves its clamp downwards onto the tire, automatically closing the transparent guard over the tire.
- The separating ram extends upon the rim either bending it if steel, or if an alloy rim it will break apart.
- The rim will push out of the tire and fall onto the ground in front of the machine.
- The clamp lifts and opens the guard allowing the tire to be taken away.
Can You Get The Tire Off The Rim Without A Machine?
You can manually remove the rubber tire part off the rim of a wheel. You can do this using a crowbar and some elbow grease. Although for businesses that deal with large tire disposals, the manual process of tire separating is time consuming, labour intensive, and costly in the long run.
Which Businesses Need A Tire Rim Separator?
Any business that deals with a surplus of waste tires should install a Tire Rim Separator, to assist in the tire disposal process. Industries may include manufacturing, buying and selling vehicle businesses, vehicle repairs, tire shops etc.
The tire rim separating process can be processed by a third party company, who will collect whole waste tires, separate and dispose of them. However, using an external company means your business loses out on steel profits and you will incur a cost for the external handling of tire disposal management.
What Are The Benefits Of Installing A Tire Rim Separator?
- Increased efficiency in the tire disposal process.
- Reduced time for separating tires.
- Reduced cost for seeking a third party to handle this process.
- Collecting steel material, to sell and increase profits.
- Collecting steel material and reducing waste associated with disposed tires.
- Opportunity to offset costs of this machine.
- Sound level of health and safety precautions – i.e.) requiring two hands for operation.
- Protection of operators.
- Does not require sound protection equipment for operators.
- Emits low level noise in the workplace.
