About
The Gradeall MKII Tire Baler is designed to help with tire disposal operations by increasing efficiency when transporting them. It’s part of our tire disposal range for car tires and other passenger type vehicle tires. The MKII Tire Baler is the last machine used in the tire disposal process.
Car tires and other lightweight tires are now easier to recycle with Gradeall’s very own MKII Tire Baler which is designed for baling scrap and waste tires. This machine helps to increase efficiencies in truck loads and more importantly reduce costs for tire disposal processes.
The Gradeall MKII Tire Baler produces bales sized specifically to fit in shipping containers in order to maximise a number of bales that can be shipped out in a container. These tire bales are of a consistent size to ensure uniformity.
The typical customers for the MKII Tire baler include waste tire collectors, waste tire transporters and waste tire recyclers.
Not normally. The truck tire baler has been designed to deal with unprocessed truck tires. However, when combined with a sidewall cutter it is possible to cut the sidewalls from tires separating the sidewalls and treads. Then the tire parts can be deposited into the MKII tire baler in a specific pattern to produce a bale containing up to 26 tires.
Watch the video below to see how to bale truck tires in a MKII baler. A number of our customers now operate a sidewall cutter and MKII baler together and find that this combination is ideal for dealing with a wide range of road going tires.

There are many reasons why tire baling is an attractive option for businesses. Some of the main advantages include reducing your businesses’ environmental risk and impact:
Reducing the risk of tire fires
Whole waste tires are extremely combustible and tire fires can be started accidentally, by natural causes, or by vandalism. Once a tire dump is ablaze, it is very difficult to put out, with some recorded fires lasting for up to 15 years.
Tire fires emit toxic, thick black smoke and toxic oils are released from the ground which can contaminate the groundwater. Baling decreases the likelihood of tire dumps catching fire, which could be detrimental for your business.
Stagnant water can collect in the base of whole tires. Stagnant water is considered hazardous and in warmer climates, it can become a breeding ground for mosquitoes. An increase in mosquitoes can increase cases of malaria in the local area, causing illness and potential death.
Tire bales can also be used in recycling efforts. Some of their alternative uses include embankments and foundations under roads – which is particularly useful over soft ground as a solid foundation.
