Gradeall International manufactures a range of products that reduce the carbon footprint associated with waste products. By reducing waste materials volume, there is a decreased demand on transport infrastructure involved in the removal of waste products.
The recycling products that we produce are designed to promote recycling; they are designed to make recycling easier and more cost effective, thereby encouraging more manufacturing companies to look at recycling as a sensible decision – not just environmentally, but economically.
And here’s why we as a company are environmentally conscious:
Being a manufacturer of large machinery products, we have specific requirements with regard to how we heat our facility. Our employees require a minimum temperature for their comfort and wellbeing and at the same time, the paint which is used during the manufacturing process, requires heat to cure the paint finish. In previous years, Gradeall used kerosene heaters to maintain the required temperature. However, a recent investment in a biomass boiler now allows us to generate all our heat from woodchip, grown in a sustainable cyclic forest in Co. Donegal. The result of this is that for every tree cut, another is replanted to offset the action. This ensures a carbon neutral heat source which reduces dependency on fossil fuels.
Inevitably, given that we are a manufacturing company, we use some equipment, including cranes, welders and CNC Plasma, which require high levels of electricity. However, we endeavour to ensure that all of the equipment that we use is modern and energy efficient.
Similarly, when it comes to lighting and our computer requirements (are two next biggest electricity consumers), we strive for the most energy efficient solutions we can find. With this in mind, all our computers are A rated for energy efficiency while we use only energy efficient lighting where at all possible.
Our products are designed to help businesses reduce their tire waste and increase their tire recycling efforts. The machinery we provide includes:
Gradeall has produced the Tire Rim Separator which is ideal for separating the parts of a road wheel – removing the alloy or steel rim from the rubber tire. The rubber tire is separated and ready to go through the tire disposal process. The waste steel recovered is also very profitable and offers a return on investment for this machine.
Gradeall has designed in-house, the Sidewall Cutter. It is our bespoke, high-quality machine which provides an effective solution to sidewall cutting.
Whole tires are brought to the Sidewall Cutter machine which then picks them up, cuts the sidewalls using a tool steel grade cutting blade, and deposits the cut tire back onto the ground. After this process, you are left with two sidewalls and one tread section.
Gradeall has produced the Truck Tire Baler to assist in disposing tires from large commercial vehicles, such as buses and trucks. This is a cost effective piece of equipment in terms of operational costs.
The machinery is operated by two people and semi-automatic, in that the loading is manual, but cycling is done automatically. Manual baling is required, using wire strapping and a forklift will remove the bale with a chain ejection system.
Gradeall has produced the MKII Tire Baler to make recycling car tires and other lightweight tires more efficient. It is designed for baling scrap and waste tires into uniform bales. The consistency in the size of these bales also maximizes the efficiency on truck loads and shipping container space.
